Update: Thanks to your support, Maggie is healed and has been cleared for adoption!
Maggie the 10-year-old dachshund came to the Atlanta Humane Society from a local county shelter, and we immediately knew something was wrong. Maggie was in severe discomfort, and x-rays soon revealed that her bladder was completely full of stones preventing poor Maggie from urinating properly and causing intense pain.
Your support allowed us to act immediately to save Maggie’s life.
This sweet senior girl immediately underwent emergency surgery, and our Shelter Medicine Team removed an unbelievable 98 stones from Maggie’s bladder.
Her surgery was a success, and now Maggie is recovering in a loving Atlanta Humane Society foster home where she’s receiving round-the-clock monitoring to ensure her continued progress.
